The strike hasn’t even officially hit London’s Underground, but the topic is already trending on Twitter. Most of the tweets seem to be light hearted, either in support of the planned 24 hour strike which starts today at 6:30pm or at the very least, tongue in cheek, high spirited. Of course, there are many restaurants and marketers from a variety of sectors who are seeing the #tubestrike hashtag as a brilliant chance to win over customers and fill those after work tables.
Here are a few of my favourite tube strike tweets so far.

I was getting really smug about the #TubeStrike given my new bike, only to find that the showers at work are out of order. Thanks, universe.

They don’t do Boris Bikes with stabilisers so I’m going to have to join the bus crush. #tubestrike

My tube map app has messaged me to let me know the Emirates Airline isn’t affected by the #tubestrike. PHEW

Travelling in London today? Are you ready for the strike? I’m laughing all the way home, smug as anything as I’m on the overground now, but will keep you all in mind and hope you get home safe and in a timely fashion.
